DIY Paper Orchid

DIY Paper Orchid Flower How to Make a Paper Orchid My favorite ways to use this paper orchid are on top of a gift and to clip into your hair for a tropical event. But I am guessing that you all have at least another dozen great ideas for using this ever blooming bit of bliss. Maybe napkin rings or added to a tropical centerpiece? With only 4 pieces, this is so far the easiest paper flower I have posted. So print either the bright pink or white PDF (or both) and follow the easy steps below! 4. Well, this couldn’t come at a better time. I JUST finished redecorating a room in zen/spa like decor and had one wall left. When I saw this project this morning, I knew immediately what to do! I went outside and grabbed a 5′ long dead tree branch and adhered 7 of these white orchids to it – it looks amazing! I will be posting pictures to my blog this week of the final product and will certainly link to your page. Thank you so much – they’re really beautiful!

    • Yay! I can’t wait to see! You can post them on our Facebook page too. I am planning to make a full orchid plant to sit in the place I usually have a real one. I will share this project too.

  5. I thought the lilies were amazing and then I saw the orchids! Beautiful! Wanted to tell you that I used your watercolour butterflies on a plain lampshade – they look great.

  6. these are gorgeous! I can’t wait to start making my own! Thanks for the wonderful tutorial!

  7. Oh my gosh – TOO adorable! Can you use regular old printer paper or must you use something sturdier?

    • I think a thinner paper works great. I use that for most of my paper flowers. These I did use a 110 lb card stock, but they would have looked just as good on the lighter paper.

  8. love these flowers! keep it up… awesome…

  14. Hi Lia,
I commented a while ago on these beautiful flowers and I came up with the idea to use them for an Ikea Maskros chandelier hack. Some of your other flowers would be just as beautiful for that purpose.
I linked everything back to you and asked the readers to pin from your original source.
I hope that is ok with you!
    Let me know!

  15. What a lovely idea! I found your blog from the Facebook page “The Ecoist” and I fell in love with it. It’s everything I’ve alwayd wanted to do with paper but couldn’t. Today I printed 25 white orchids with a b/w printer and I’m colouring them with pastels, so everyone will be unique. I plan to stick them to my bedroom wall as a 3D decoration.
Thank you for your work, from now on I won’t miss a post.
    Love from Italy!

  28. I have used your paper orchids for two parties. I fashioned the white orchid and hot glued a ribbon “ring” on the back so the flower could be used as a napkin ring. One party where the budget allowed, the napkin rings were tied in with an orchid plant and tea lights on the table. The look was fresh and festive. I love your web site and blog, it’s really the only one I take the time to read. I learned about you after reading of your winning the gift wrap contest.

  29. Hi from France and a lot of thanks for this orchids files!!
