There is something so happy about poppies. Even the name. . . poppy. . . puts a smile on my face. Have you seen the giant paper poppies gracing the windows of Anthropologie this month? So, so pretty. So here you are, the Ellinée version of a printable paper poppy template with my full tutorial. These pretty poppies are a great topper for a gift, perfect to pin into your hair, or clustered in a bowl to add a pop of color to your table. You can download and print the striped wrapping paper from this French inspired party post. I love the vibrant orange color of poppies and designed a gorgeous poppy wedding invitation featuring this color. Enjoy~ Lia

SO CUTE what kind of ribbon is that with the flower ?
That is a black silk ribbon and a black and white striped ribbon I picked up at the fabric store. I have a thing for collecting great ribbons.
WHERE did you get the stripe gift paper as well? LOVE this!
Ah ha! You can download and print that gift wrap right here at the end of this post. http://www.ellinee.com/blog/french-inspired-birthday-brunch-printable-gift-wrap-gift-tags/
Amazing – love the colour. Thank you for another beautiful flower.
Thanks Luzia!
i love this!
Thanks!
EVERYTHING that you do is PERECT! SO beautiful, so creative and so original :)
Thanks Lisa…so sweet of you.
I can’t seem to get the pattern for the poppy to open so that I can download it. Any help would be great.
Double check that your browser does not block pop ups. The button will open another window with a PDF that you can save onto your computer. If this doesn’t work, let me know and we can look deeper.
The poppies are beautiful used as accents with the wrap. I adore the striped ribbon!!!! Great find on that! Thanks for another freebie.
Thanks, Anne!
I absolutely love the colors, and the fact that you give free patterns to download for us to use and these beautiful crafts, amazing!!!:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
I’m experiencing the same problems Cheryl, I’m unable to get the pattern. I don’t normally have a problem – in fact I’ve never had problem with them before. Is there, perhaps, another way of trying. I’m very fond of your work, it would be very disappointing to miss out on your tutorials.
It is a large file and takes a bit longer to load. It seems to be working here on our end but if you are still having difficulty I can downsize the file and see if that helps.
Sorry Lia, that should have read ‘as Cheryl’.
it is very beautiful , and the DIY idea is great , thank you, have a good day!
Thanks for the comment!
Your projects are always so creative…and so stylish, too! Love this for wedding or bridal shower decor!
Thanks Lissa!
I love it! Your paper flower are amazing :) Thanks
Thanks! There will be another this Friday.
I loved it! I first thought of making a gift to decorate, but it was so cool that I decorate my room some more, Thank you are very generous in sharing the beauty that you create!!!!!
beijos!
I love all of these flower ideas. I am a teacher and always looking for new and beautiful things to make with my children and this is definitely beautiful.
Was wondering if you have a template for these in red? We have remembrance day down here in Barbados where we donate and buy poppies in remembrance of the soldiers who died in the world wars. And while I do and will encourage my children to donate and collect poppies I would still love to do a craft with it so they can cement the idea in their head. However, our poppies are red and I am not quite sure if and how I can change the colour in the pdf so that.So if you do have a template with red or know how I can change the colour in the pdf, would love to get the link for it.
Sorry to be a bother.
Thank you!
That is really sweet. I think I may be able to come up with a red version of the poppy. Stay tuned. :-)
It’s cute. Thank you for the tutorial.
So pretty! Thanks again for these lovely idea.
Kate
I am a poppy lover so this is one of my favorites.
I finally tried making this bloom after eyeing it for quite some time, and I’ve got to say that it was simply brilliant! My mother saw the results and she was very happy with the flower as she found it pretty and remarked about what a pity it is that this beauty couldn’t be found in red because she is a major fan or red blooms, you see. So I was wondering if you could please come up with a red version of this template? I think that it would look fabulous on these watercolor poppies :)
Thanks Lexie. I will have more colors of the poppies coming soon!
